Africa is Our Land of Origin

Homo sapiens left Africa between 50,000 and 100,000 years ago and invaded the rest of the world.  

Our land of origin (our mother earth) is nevertheless overexploited, not to say abused. Despite all the natural wealth it abounds in, the African continent remains the poorest on the planet. But Africa is also a land of resilience symbolized by the symbols on the shield.

Jazz in the Heart of Spruce Stained pine and spruce, real peg bass strings, varnished  190.5 (incl. stand) /152 (excl. stand) x 53.34 x 35.56 cm 2022  This sculpture is a tribute to artists who go unnoticed, even if they give good performances, such as the double bass player in a jazz orchestra.
