For more information about this sculpture:  https://www.gallea.ca/fr/artistes/lucien-carol-proulx-1/oeuvre/100960 Trump making his mark in the field of Indigenous visions At the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, I made this sculpture with Johanne Beaulieu entitled An Exclusive Frame . I sculpted the frame and Johanne painted the canvas. For us, this work means that from the moment we are born, each of us builds, unconsciously or not, a filter of perceptions . We thus perceive reality according to our own references, inherited from our environment or self-elaborated by our deductions. At that time, I dared to put Donald Trump as one of the references because his omnipresence in the media was (and still is) imposed in our field of perception. This mini-Trump in this context referred to the casino owner who had distinguished himself during the 1990s by his ferocious trade war against Native casinos because they overshadowed his empire, questioning the very indigenous roo...

EGO SYSTEM vs ECOSYSTEM  Voici un nouveau commentaire de Jo Plamondon qui a acheté une ma sculpture EGO   Here's a new comment from Jo Plamondon, who bought my sculpture EGO SYSTÈME vs ECOSYSTÈME at the Toiles Bois, Feux exhibition last October. I've known Lucien-Carol (PROU) for a year now, as he's very involved in the Cap-Santé artists' group near Quebec City and its cultural life.  I discovered the talent of this incredible sculptor when I visited the Escale du Roy art gallery. As I entered the showroom, I came face to face with his impressive work entitled “L'ego système versus l'écosystème”, and it was love at first sight.  Three months later, at his Toiles, Bois, Feux trio exhibition, I saw this work again and immediately rushed to acquire it.  For me, this sculpture, which verges on impertinence, is totally relevant to the times in which we live. It speaks to me so much of our courage in the face of everything we've been through with the COV...

The Don Quichote in all of us Here are the comment of Yves, who bought one of my works at the Toiles Bois, Feux exhibition last October.  Lucien's sculpture appealed to me as soon as I saw it, and for the following reasons: Like Don Quixote, I believe in the importance of having ideals and dreams in life. What's more, in this sculpture we see two different faces which, for me, represent the inner self and the self we present in society. This work is a constant reminder of who I really am.  Great work Lucien!  Yves N.

The Dreamer's Lyre Statuary sculpture in maple wood, basswood dreamer, spruce base and Canadian acacia branches. 42.64 X 48.26 X 22.86 cm 5.89 kg. 2024. SC2409 As in clouds, there are shapes that I've brought out in this maple brush. As in clouds, there are shapes that I've brought out in this maple brush. As you probably know, maple is a very hard wood, and difficult to carve. This piece took me 2 months of work, but the result was well worth it. My wrists and tools had a hard time of it, but I'm proud to have taken up the challenge. For Jung, dreams are not simply reflections of our repressed desires, but symbolic expressions of the unconscious, enabling us to connect with aspects of our psyche that remain hidden from consciousness. According to a dictionary of dreams, experts claim that dreams can reflect our fears, desires, needs or repressed emotions. And finally, some say that dreams can be a form of creative visualization that can help attract situations or opp...
